The Spreadthesign dictionary is now 10 years old – happy birthday!
The initial idea for establishing the dictionary became from Swede Thomas Lydell in 2006 and the main purpose of it was to offer Deaf students a contemporary possibility for language support and easing a language barrier while studying or undergoing a professional training abroad. During the past 10 years the initial idea has grown into a large-scale resource of supporting the process of sing language learning in many different countries among Deaf as well as hearing people all around the world.
