The unique Spreadthesign dictionary of sign languages (https://spreadthesign.com) needs support of kind people to continue helping everyone in learning and using different sign languages. All the work with the dictionary haas been project-based and non-profit since 2006. The dictionary also contains a large amount of Estonian language and Estonian Sign Language. In addition to vocabulary and sentences, Spreadthesign allows you to learn sign languages through an interactive Google map and 360-degree photos. Tactile signals used to communicate with deafblind people can also be found in the dictionary. At the beginning of 2025, sign language dialogues, presentations introducing 16 European countries and their cultures, and a fun quiz to test your knowledge will be added to the dictionary.
Since 2011, Spreadthesign has been an invaluable support to the Estonian sign language students, teachers, sign language interpreters and family members of hearing impaired children. We hope that with joint efforts we can continue to enable the use of the dictionary and proceed with its further development, and thereby improve the possibilities of inclusion and accessibility of hearing-impaired children.
